Voltereta Bali in Valencia

Voltereta Bali, Gran Via del Marqués del Túria 59

It already feels like an eternity ago (that's often how it goes with trips), but a week and a half ago I was in Valencia for a few days, a city I have been to several times, but which continues to surprise me every time. And sorry, I might make some Spain lovers angry now, but I really find Valencia a lot more fun than Barcelona.

For me, vacations, city trips, and even work trips are really all about two things: eating and drinking. That's what my whole day revolves around. I genuinely look forward to it. Where am I going to have lunch? Where am I going to have dinner? And of course, I go through all the menus in advance, because anticipation is also fun.

Since I was only there for a few days, I absolutely didn't want to miss out on dining options, so I asked on Insta for tips: where should I go? And almost unanimously one place came up: Voltereta Bali. But with the caveat that I had to reserve quickly, as it was supposed to be quite popular.

That turned out to be the understatement of the century, as it was just packed. Luckily, I managed to snag a spot on Saturday at a quarter to five. And is it worth the hype? Oh my goodness: YES. Such an incredibly fun place. Just the entrance: you walk in through an oasis of waterfalls, market stalls, and bird sounds, after which you can go down (that space is called Seminyak) or up (Ubud). We were lucky to be upstairs, as I honestly thought that looked the best. Funny: it seems like a terrace, but there is a glass roof on it. Ideal.

And the food? Mega delicious. From sushi to bao buns, delicious chicken satay, and a rosé to top it off. I could seriously have ordered the entire menu. Can someone please copy-paste this place to Amsterdam?
