If you are a little familiar with Amsterdam, you are probably familiar with Spaghetteria. It’s hard not to be, as they now have eight (!) locations in our capital. But they have also been a staple in Utrecht (three locations) and Rotterdam (two locations) for quite some time. And honestly: I always find it a party there. Just really good pasta, generous portions, good prices, delicious wine, and a nice antipasti platter beforehand. No frills, but guaranteed a cozy evening with good food. Love it.

Recently, a new location opened in Amsterdam (yes, that makes it number nine) and it’s just a little different from the others. At Spaghetteria Caffè on Jan Pieter Heijestraat, you can get the tastiest sandwiches. For takeout, but you can also sit down with a coffee. And have a cannolo for dessert, because you can indulge in desserts during lunch, right?

Starting from ten in the morning, they open their doors and you can get the best sourdough ciabattas here. Fun fact: there is a lot of choice for the vegetarians among us. For example, there’s a ciabatta with artichoke cream, grilled zucchini and bell pepper, spicy caciovallo cheese, and arugula. In other words: divine. But a classic like buffalo mozzarella with prosciutto is also on the menu. Yes, this is my new lunch spot to grab a sandwich. I can immediately start my daily walk.

But hey, if you really can’t live without their pastas: no stress. They are of course also just on the menu. From five in the afternoon until late at night, it’s just the ’Spag‘ as we know it.
