Say whát? You need to sleep at least 10 hours

By

I'm already happy if I hit eight hours, usually it's six, but the new normal in terms of sleep is at least nine hours, according to sleep experts.

Dakota Johnson, you know her from Fifty Shades and the girlfriend of Chris Martin, is a real sleep activist who is truly happy if she has managed to get fourteen hours of sleep. Poor Chris, I think. Because that leaves only ten hours for the other things in life, but Dakota wants to spend at least ten hours with her eyes closed in a horizontal position.

There is Seema Khasla, the director of the North Dakota (that's just a coincidence: the Dakota connection) Center for Sleep, very happy with that because sleep is very good for your physical and mental health, so as far as she's concerned, there can't be enough sleep ambassadors.

It seemed cool for a while to brag about the limited number of hours of sleep you could get by on (because oh oh oh, how much those short sleepers managed to accomplish in a day), but that's actually NOT good for the body and mind.

According to Seema Khosla, sleeping is becoming cool again. Many TikTokers and Instagrammers rave about their nice bed linens, their sleep masks, and bedtime rituals, which helps to make sleep important and a priority again instead of something you skimp on. She says that she once fell asleep at a stop sign after a thirty-hour work shift and woke up to the sound of a car horn because her head was resting on the steering wheel.

So you definitely don't have to feel lazy and boring if you close your eyes at ten o'clock tonight. Sleeping long is a gift to yourself and you're darn right being super hip too.
