These are the best-paid jobs in the Netherlands of 2023

Whether you are truly passionate about the work or primarily motivated by the paycheck, some jobs simply offer that financial security that we all want. Based on a study by the National Career Guide, it has been revealed which positions you can earn the most. So if you want to stop worrying about your fixed expenses that come up every month, these career opportunities are still an option. Just keep in mind that you need to spend a few extra years in school, but we'll set that aside for now.
1. Clinical chemistry researcher
You often don't come across this job, and there's a reason for that. Such training takes quite a bit of time and effort, but you do get a significant compensation in return. The minimum monthly salary starts at €15,000 and can easily rise to €20,000. That's about two hundred thousand a year.
2. Pilot
Not very surprising that this one is on the list: pilots earn a lot, and we all know that. An experienced pilot easily brings in between €9,200 and €16,500 per month. But you do need to fly around the world with a Boeing, and not every pilot does that.
3. Commercial Director
This position is very broad and can vary greatly from person to person. For example, someone who has been in the field for years can rake in €16,000, while another might earn €5,300. Still not a punishment, though.
4. Accountant
And even in this job, there is a significant gap between the minimum and maximum salary. Yet it is a paycheck that often makes you say 'wow'. An accountant's salary ranges between €2,250 and €13,500.
5. Neurosurgeon
Before you receive that first paycheck, you do need to dive into the books for years. But well, then you also have something: an amount between €5,800 and €10,800. Well earned, literally and figuratively.
6. Dermatologist
Our skin experts have nothing to complain about financially. Their starting salary is already at €5,800 and can rise to €10,800. They don't know stress pimples with such an amount in the bank every month.
7. Mayor
Representing your city or town suddenly becomes very nice when you see that paycheck. Depending on your experience and the size of the municipality, you can expect around €3,300 to €10,300 monthly.
8. Corporate Lawyer
If you have been working as a corporate lawyer for a while, they are willing to pay a lot of money for you. Think of amounts between €6,500 and €10,000. However, as a beginner, you can expect around €2,917 per month. Just keep pushing through.
9. Lawyer
After reading all those hefty legal bundles during your studies, there should indeed be something in return. And that is the case, as a lawyer you can earn between €4,900 and €8,200.
10. Psychiatrist in addiction care
A tough job where you again have to complete quite a few trainings, but hard work pays off. As a psychiatrist, you can expect a monthly salary of €4,700 to €8,100. You can safely call that a monthly salary.
