Let's talk about sex, babyyyy — and actually about how anonymous people on Reddit think about sex. That sounds a bit too blunt, because maybe you can still learn something from it. These people share the very best advice in the field of sex that they have received from their parents. Some people find it terrible to have the talk about the birds and the bees with their parents, but in these cases, it has turned out more than well.

1. ‘My parents didn't want to have the talk with me, so they asked a family friend to do it. He said, and I quote: ‘Your body is going through a lot of changes right now, and you're going to have urges to do weird stuff. It's all normal. Unless you suddenly want to rub dead puppies against you, come to me for help.’’

2. ‘That I always have to shower before the act.’

3. ‘When my dad caught me with a Playboy when I was thirteen, I was so embarrassed, but he said I didn't have to worry; it was normal to be curious. Then he said something very wise: ‘Just remember: most women do NOT look like that.’’

4. ‘These weren't my parents, but strangely enough, it was our doctor: ‘Teenage boys and even boys in their early twenties are excited, hardly know what they're doing, and usually forget to wash their balls. Don't let them touch you unless they show through their actions that they genuinely respect you, care for you, and like you just as much as you like them. And still: always use a condom, even if you're on the pill, because babies are not the only thing you can get from sex.’’

5. ‘My dad gave the talk when I was a teenager and explained quite explicitly that and how a woman's body needs attention and that you need to invest in it before you have sex. He also gave me a book called ‘The guide of getting it on’ and recommended that I read it. Once I had sex, I felt very confident about how everything worked and how I could make women feel good.’

7. ‘If you mess up, we're here for you and will support you financially. But if you hurt a girl, we'll kick you out of the house and you'll have to figure it out yourself.’

8. ‘Sex is about giving the other person a good feeling. If you just want to get off, you should go masturbate.’

9. ‘If you're too embarrassed to buy condoms, you're too young to have sex.’
