Even about Chantal Janzen and her brilliant tweet

In the times when social media can suddenly take you back to a medieval marketplace where you are pelted with rotten eggs and tomatoes, it is important to steer bad publicity or a certain ‘narrative’ in the right direction. You can do this by, like Linda de Mol and Jeroen Rietbergen, suddenly sitting on a terrace in Paris and trying to take the sting out of all the speculation. Or you do it like Chantal Janzen.
What happened? A rather trivial tweet went around with the text ‘Are you also done with Chantal Janzen?’ It was retweeted by someone who has a bit more followers and before you know it, the snowflake became an avalanche. It rained unkind things about Chantal. And what did the grande dame herself do? You might think: do nothing. Always good, let the storm rage and don't rub it in. Or you could post a disgruntled message along the lines of: well, a million people are having a lot of fun watching my shows. Or you line up famous friends to speak up for you. Or you pull a Jeroen van Koningsbrugge who retweets such a message, causing all his fans to engage again with the negative senders.
Or you do like Chantal. She looked up her Twitter login and password again (because she hadn't been on for a while), logged into her account, searched for the relevant tweet, and responded: ‘Tell me what.’
Then you are great. And funny.
And if you ever get tired of making television, you know what your second mission will be: media strategist.
Tell me what
