The Lidl Christmas commercial makes us cry again this year

By

I hope I'm not the only one here: the holidays really make me a wet rag. I can literally cry over everything, and that's also a bit my own fault. It was my own choice to see Hachi for the first time in ten years, knowing that it was THE movie that made me cry non-stop for four days. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Because yes, of course, it happened again and I drowned in my tears on the couch.

There's just something about animals that can make me cry so much. Of course, I wiped away a tear when Jack couldn't go through the door and Rose let his frozen body sink to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean, but an old Hachi who passes away after waiting for years for his owner? CRYING. Just like in The Incredible Journey when the cat falls off the waterfall. God, I'm already getting tears in my eyes again.

So Lidl. Dear, dear Lidl. What. Are. You. Doing. To. Us. This wet rag can barely handle Christmas commercials, but then with this way too cute raccoon? With a Christmas hat, who just wants to sit warm inside but is only outside in the cold? That little raccoon who finds your cuddle and then the dog gets the credit, regardless of the hellish journey this raccoon has made. And then as the icing on the cake, that dog who also shares his Christmas meal with that raccoon outside. Aaaah. Can't handle it.

No really, no idea who at Lidl came up with this ad, but hats off. You have brought me, and many viewers like me, to tears again.
