These are the most fun double date ideas for couples

Been planning a double date for months but don't feel like going out to eat for the umpteenth time? You can hardly imagine it, but this can also get boring after a while. Oh, don't worry, because I've dived into the archive and found the most original (but still fun) double dates that don't come across as too... forced, if you know what I mean. Here it comes.
1. Go to a concert
Looking for an icebreaker? Choose a concert or festival nearby that day, buy the cheapest tickets you can find on TicketSwap and go for it. Even better is to choose an artist you would normally never go to. You know what they say: spontaneous actions make the best memories. See for yourself.
2. Rent a boat
Suppose the sun ever shines again, then get out on the water. Easier said than done of course if, like me, you are not blessed with a boat. However, you can rent a boat in many places in the Netherlands for not too much money. Bring a cooler, throw in some snacks and a good bottle of wine, and you're set.
3. Visit a local food festival
Around this time of year, we are flooded with food festivals. Think of something like Rolling Kitchens or TREK. Check out every food truck and try a bit of everything. There's a good chance you'll end up at a slightly cramped table with an alcoholic beverage and jazz music in the background. Lovely, right? It's something different.
4. Organize a dinner date
Well, food makes a person happy, so this classic double date couldn't be missed. To ensure that not only you are slaving away in the kitchen all evening, you can split the menu. One person takes care of the appetizer, the other the main course, light some candles, set a nicely laid table: you get it. Or you can just eat it while enjoying a Harry Potter marathon on the couch. That has its charms too.
5. Join a pub quiz
Oh, this is my personal favorite. A good pub quiz puts everyone in the right mood. You can choose to put one together yourself. You have to be in the mood for that, so you can just as easily join in somewhere at a café. 100 percent guarantee for a fun evening.
6. Rent a cabin in the middle of nowhere
I did this recently. Together with two other couples, we found a super cheap Airbnb for a weekend. Boom, booked immediately and there we were: in the middle of nowhere. There was nothing, not even a local supermarket, and we didn't see a ray of sunshine due to all the rain. Despite everything, we had one of the coziest weekends ever.
