Well, that's quite a headline I didn't see coming: Gigi Hadid being arrested with drugs in her possession. For years she had a good girl image: a hard worker, top model, never does anything weird... But yesterday that went a bit differently.

Gigi was actually enjoying a lovely vacation in the Cayman Islands, but she hadn't considered upon arrival at the airport that cannabis is not necessarily welcome to bring along. She had some with her, and thus she was picked up at customs.

Now I must honestly admit that I didn't know Gigi occasionally smoked a joint, but well: certainly in the Netherlands, we are no longer surprised by that. In the Cayman Islands, it's quite different, and that's why Gigi wasn't simply released.

Fortunately for her, she had such a small amount that it quickly became clear it was for personal use, and in the end, she only had to pay a fine of a thousand dollars. Of course, she could forget about that cannabis.

After the discovery of the cannabis, she was first held for a while in the Prisoner Detention Center in the Cayman Islands, before it was known that it was such a small amount.
