Say wine, snacks or haute cuisine and the food lovers of online food magazine FavorFlav know where to drink, how to eat and what to cook. This time: food poisoning outbreak in Spain after MasterChef contestants cooked.

Now already a recommendation, that new Spanish season of MasterChef. It could very well be the very first season in history where ultimately no one is crowned as MasterChef. Or they might just start over with auditions, because something went completely wrong here: during a dinner where the contestants had to cook for 120 people, most of them got extremely sick from food poisoning.

And that while it had the potential to be an amazing dinner. The location was already very special: the L’Oceanogràfic in Valencia, or the largest aquarium in Europe.

‘Thank you MasterChef, for the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life’
The theme was also not entirely surprising seafood. The contestants of MasterChef had to prepare a dinner in teams of two for the aquarium staff, a total of 120 people. The menu was Asian fusion, including a Japanese cheesecake with… algae. Furthermore, it was a mix of Mediterranean dishes and Asian seafood. A daring combination that they won't dare to try again soon.

Employee Irene went off about the incident on Twitter, as she was one of the victims and even ended up in the hospital. ‘I was treated for severe stomach flu in the emergency room. They injected Primperan into my butt, a medication to suppress the symptoms. I lost five kilos in three days. Thank you MasterChef, for the worst dining experience I have ever had in my life.’

According to her, about 70 colleagues also became very ill: 44 people were treated for their symptoms. And the contestants? I am very curious if there will be a deserving winner this year, but I really don't want to miss this episode, disaster tourist or not.
