I was really ready for a nice relationship again. That's why I had arranged to meet a girl I had met through a dating app. She had everything: she was funny, sweet, beautiful, and of course lived an hour and a half away. You always see that. At that moment, my life was very busy, especially at work, so sweet as she was, she offered to come to my side, where we agreed to meet in a café. On the evening of our date, I was suddenly overwhelmed by a wave of fatigue and decided to lie down for a bit before our date. A decision I quickly regretted, because before I knew it, I fell into a deep sleep.

You can probably guess where this is going, but I slept through our entire date while she had taken the trouble to drive from the other side of the country to me. My phone was, as always, on silent, which meant I missed all her messages. Only when I finally woke up did I see what had happened without me.

In her messages, she had let me know that she had arrived and was planning to order a drink. Then she wondered where I was and if everything was okay. Finally, she mentioned that she was considering going home, but not without the sweet suggestion to try again another time. I was mortified and of course called her immediately. Fortunately, she could laugh about it, but she definitely made me come to her the next times. Successfully, by the way, because we have now been together for two and a half years. So you see what a poorly timed nap can mean for you.
