Fans are worried about Selena Gomez, as the superstar seemed unable to part with her phone yesterday, or more specifically: unable to part with Instagram. This is particularly striking, as she had just taken a social media break. She has done this more often; this last time it was due to the lack of her support for Palestine. To protect her own mental well-being, she indicated she would disappear from social media, only to return less than a week later.

Selena is the most followed person on Instagram. There are many fans among them, but also many people who don't like her that much. In any case, out of the 429 million (she lost a few million after she didn't make her stance on Palestine clear), many people always have something to say about her. This also includes her love life.

Selena is indeed happy in love again, and everyone should know that. The lucky one is Benny Blanco, the producer with whom she made the song I Can’t Get Enough (which also featured J Balvin), but he also previously produced Same Old Love and Kill ‘Em With Kindness for her. A fan account posted a photo of the two on their account (a photo that Selena posted in her Instagram Stories) and the singer herself responded.

‘He is my absolute everything and he has my heart’ Selena responds to the photo. However, many fans are not exactly cheering for this new love. The reason? His collaboration with her ex Justin Bieber for the song Lonely, and also his statements about ‘cookie-cutter pop artists’ starting a ‘make-up line’. He made this statement a month after Selena Rare Beauty launched, so fans assumed he was referring to Selena.

His exact words: ‘Justin [Bieber, ed.] is not one of those cookie-cutter pop artists. Like you know, they’re like, ‘This is my new single and here’s my make-up line.’ And he’s like, Justin’s like, ‘Yo, I have a pimple and I have anxiety today. He’s always been upfront about that stuff.’

Enough reason for Selenators (that’s what fans of Selena Gomez call themselves) to go completely wild under Selena's comment. The striking thing is: Selena herself also goes completely wild. She talks about the therapy she has been in for years, that all her exes are terrible but Benny Blanco is finally a good guy, that she uses botox, and that she is now at her happiest. The latter is of course very nice, although fans are worried about her displaying this behavior on Instagram. Let's just believe Selena at her word that she is indeed happier than ever and finally really happy in love, because I think everyone wishes her that.
