Happy first day of autumn! It may not feel like it yet, but before you know it, it will be time for hot chocolate, Ugg weather, and cuffing season is in full swing again. Yep, you read that right: the time has come to say goodbye to your summer flings and look for a sweetheart to hibernate with. If you ask me, autumn is the most romantic time of the year. Because what could be better than seeking warmth with each other? Perhaps I haven't completely convinced you yet, but I'm sure these super fun date ideas for autumn will give you a nudge in the right direction towards a new love.

1. Have a horror movie marathon
Autumn = spooky season, so the perfect excuse to cuddle up close together while enjoying your favorite horror classics. Make your scary movie night extra romantic by cooking an autumn dinner together, pouring some wine, and reaching for each other's hand when the main character inevitably gets killed because they run upstairs instead of outside in an attempt to escape the masked intruder (why do they always do this? So predictable.).

2. Do something spooky
If you can't get enough of scary scenes, you can go get spooked together in a haunted house or during a visit to Fright Nights. If you're doing it for fun, opt for a haunted house that's actually meant for kids. If you both are thrill-seekers and don't get scared easily, look for the scariest one near you and make a competition out of who can last the longest without screaming their lungs out.

3. Visit a wine tasting
Oh yes, this date is written all over me. Not only because I consist of about 75 percent Pinot Grigio, but also because there's nothing cozier than warming up with a glass of wine while getting to know each other better. The cozy atmosphere and the new experience give you plenty to talk about, and let's be honest: a glass or two makes you a lot more open, which can lead to a deeper connection. Throw in a nice snack and you have an i-de-a-l date.

4. Visit a campfire
For the early autumn evenings when it's not too cold yet. I can remember campfires where I fell head over heels for my crushes, purely because the vibe of the evening screamed love in capital letters. I don't know why, but sitting by a campfire somehow always brings up deep conversation topics, which is perfect if you want to get to know each other better. Plus: if it gets a bit chilly, you always have a good excuse to cuddle up closer together.

5. Bake, drink, and snack
Did someone say charcuterie board? How cozy is it to cook together in the kitchen to create a delicious charcuterie board that you can enjoy together? Cooking together (or in my case: doing the bare minimum of chopping and watching what my date is making) is so much fun, and enjoying your creations together is even better. If you still don't feel like autumn now, then I don't know what will.
