J.Lo's movie breaks records on Netflix

The Mother is doing very well on Netflix. J.Lo plays the lead role as a hitwoman; what could possibly go wrong? Well, quite a lot, viewers think. The film may be doing well in terms of viewership, but not everyone is equally enthusiastic about it. The film has actually broken a dubious record for director Niki Caro.
The Mother is rated as the worst of all Niki's films on Rotten Tomatoes. Viewers give The Mother only 69 percent, critics even just 43 percent. Not great and probably not the percentage Caro was hoping for.
Not that Netflix is too bothered by it; the film reached number one in 82 countries within four days. It was even watched more than Murder Mystery 2, starring Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. Also not the best film ever made, but definitely a film with two big A-listers. So don't let all the bad reviews hold you back, even though it is indeed not J.Lo's best film. But to be fair: anything is better than Gigli, in which she starred alongside Ben Affleck. That one only gets six percent on Rotten Tomatoes, so it can always be worse.
