Joost Klein will represent us at the Song Festival

If you were still looking for proof that manifesting really works, just take a good look at Joost Klein; he has been proclaiming for quite some time that he will be at the Song Festival . Well, I think he first announced that he would go there to represent Germany, but that's a minor detail — he is going to the Song Festival anyway. This was announced this morning: Joost Klein was chosen from 600 submissions (a record number) and according to chairman Twan van de Nieuwenhuijzen, Joost's song had ‘the greatest hit potential’.
‘You can hear in the song his well-known combination of celebration and nostalgia. We believe that Joost, with his creativity, is going to put on a great act and positively surprise the Netherlands and Europe,’ said Van Nieuwenhuijzen to NOS.
Now I will probably sound like a crazy boomer, but I totally don't get Joost Klein, although I haven't really delved into it yet. I saw so many people saying things about him; they were raving about him, that's what I saw on TikTok. However, I tried to find out who he was, what kind of music he makes, and I just can't figure it out. To be honest, I assumed he was more of a gimmick than a good artist, but I guess I should dive into Spotify, I haven't gone beyond Wachtmuziek yet.
One thing is for sure: we are definitely taking a very different direction with our submission, and who knows, maybe the right one. That would be really fun again, if we win again. Just waiting for the song...
