Kyle and Mauricio breaking up?
Or maybe not?
In the past, you played with friends who you wanted to be like the Dolly Dots. Later, that became the Spice Girls. Now you wonder if you are more of a Kyle or if you would rather be a Lisa Vanderpump. I believe I would always prefer to step into Kyle's life for a week. The dogs, the slightly chaotic but so cozy house, all those daughters, and especially Mauricio Umansky, the man she has been with for decades. And even better: the man she fell in love with before he was rich. In fact, Kyle encouraged Mauricio to become a realtor, took the course with him, opened the door a crack to her brother-in-law's business, and fully supported him when he started on his own. Mauricio is a really good realtor and a nice guy, but The Real Housewives also gave him a strong tailwind in building his empire.
Dream couple in short.
I have an extra warm connection with Mauricio because once, long ago, I sat next to him in a restaurant in LA and chatted with him for half an evening. Charming? Definitely. Flirty? No.
This morning, I hadn't put in my contacts yet, and I received two screenshots from People Magazine with a photo of Kyle and Mauricio. Then you actually know, you don't need to put in your contacts for that. Oh, but I did anyway, because last week after a screenshot tsunami, I thought Madonna had died and it turned out she was ’only’ in the ICU. It can be better than expected. And in this case, it turned out to be just a little bit. At least, according to People, they are apart after 27 years, but Mauricio came out with a statement on Insta. Appropriate white letters on a black background. Yes, they had had a tough time, the hardest year of their marriage, but apart, they were not. The love was too great and the mutual respect as well. And the request to, as tempting as it may be, not to fill in any details or complete stories that would feed a ‘malicious narrative’.
We won't do that either.
But I am VERY curious about the next season.
