Yes dear true crime fans, this is going to be another delightful month for us. Because if we are completely honest, Netflix has neglected us a bit lately. There hasn't been much sensational coming up, while we really need that. Yes, even when it's finally above 20 degrees outside. Well, good news, because Netflix has picked itself up again: this month some insane documentaries are coming online.

Starting with The Playing Card Killer, also known as Baraja la Firma del Asesino. It is a Spanish documentary about a series of murders that took place in 2003. Not that long ago, and yet I didn't hear anything about this serial killer back then. At the crime scenes, a playing card was continuously found, hence the name. Six people were murdered and three were injured. In a very short period of time; the first murder was on January 4, 2003, and the last on March 18, 2003. You can imagine that all of Spain was quite shaken by this, especially the Madrid region where it took place.

Good news: the murderer has been caught and is now in custody (he received a sentence of 142 years). The murders themselves were committed in a gruesome manner (including children being involved) and perhaps even worse: he turned himself in, as the police had no idea. Yes, this is going to be one that will give you sleepless nights.

But there's more. Take Care of Maya, an American documentary, will be online on June 19. The parents of ten-year-old Maya Kowalski take her to the emergency room — she is extremely ill and has unexplained symptoms. Because the doctors can't figure out what is wrong with Maya, they start to suspect the parents more and more, and before they know it, their daughter is placed under government supervision. So not a typical true crime docu, but one that I think is very interesting and gives a heavy insight into the American world of legally bizarre rules.

And one more: again not a typical true crime documentary, but this one might be the best of the three. Eldorado: Everything the Nazis Hate is about a flamboyant nightclub in Berlin that became popular in the 1920s. Everyone could be who they wanted to be here, there was a huge party atmosphere, until Hitler came to power and these freedoms disappeared in an instant. It will be online on June 28. Just a little longer to wait, but what a nice prospect this is.
