Netflix tip of the Day: Knokke Off

One thing you might not know about me is that I'm not really into puns. Every now and then I find them clever, but usually they're way too corny and not funny. Initially, I was sure I would skip this new series on Netflix. Knokke Off, seriously? That's a bit on the level of RTL Boulevard headlines with their endless corny wordplay...

But then I saw that Anna Drijver was in it and I started to doubt. If she associates her name with it, it can't be that bad, right? And since it was a dreary day yesterday, I decided to binge-watch it. I haven't regretted it for a second.

Knokke Off is just a delightful series, super addictive, full of intrigue and drama, and exactly what my Sunday needed. The series follows a group of twenty-somethings spending their summer in the Belgian seaside resort of Knokke. If you're not familiar with this town: it's usually full of wealthy families, and this group has nothing to complain about financially.

They party a lot while also trying to keep their parents happy. And that's quite a tricky balance, especially when two newcomers arrive: the Dutch Daan and his mother Melissa (played by Anna Drijver). Melissa doesn't trust this whole group and has the feeling that there's much more going on than meets the eye. Spoiler alert: that's definitely the case.
