Tip: Restaurant La Nostra Gigi in Amsterdam

There’s a new kid in town and I’d like to introduce you to: La Nostra Gigi in Amsterdam. What a nice addition and also just around the corner from my regular spot. Window 33. I was already familiar with this place, and therefore I knew that there had been many businesses before that didn’t make it. I was a bit cautiously optimistic when I saw the site: it looks amazing, but will it work?
Well, I went there to eat and I can tell you: yes indeed. This is a keeper. The interior is just as amazing in real life as it looks on the site, and everything else is really on point too. The menu is Italian and perfect for sharing, which is handy because I spontaneously got choice stress. Now I could taste as much as possible. My recommendations? The homemade meatballs in tomato sauce, the carpaccio (both beef and sea bass), the signature spaghetti that is prepared at the table in a large Pecorino cheese (with truffle) and the pizza. Yes, I went home feeling stuffed, you read that right. I personally love it when restaurants think of everything: they have their logo pressed into the ice cubes for the cocktails. How brilliant is that? There are also many different types of tables, which splits the restaurant into different corners. I love that. If you make a reservation, definitely ask for a booth; those are by far the nicest tables. And lastly, the service: I get so happy when the service is nice and friendly, but also very attentive. No empty glasses, the food not coming too quickly in succession, and enthusiastically telling about the menu and the wines. Yes, La Nostra Gigi is a keeper.
