Rapper P. Diddy sued for rape and years of abuse

Sean Combs, also known as Puff Daddy and later P. Diddy, is facing significant backlash. The singer Cassie (who you might know from her hit Me & U) has filed a lawsuit against him in the Federal District Court in Manhattan, New York, due to some serious allegations. According to Casandra Ventura (her real name), she has been abused by the rapper for years, and the details are truly horrific.
The two met in 2005 when Cassie was 19, and according to her, the abuse began shortly thereafter. She claims that Diddy was extremely controlling, drugged her, hit her, and forced her to have sex with male escorts, something that Diddy filmed. This continued until 2018, when Diddy broke into her home and raped her.
After nine years of abuse, Cassie decided to finally file a report: ‘After years of living in silence and darkness, I am finally ready to tell my story, to stand up for myself, and I do this for all the other women who are victims of violence and abuse in their relationships.’
According to the lawyers for both Cassie and P. Diddy, the two had communicated prior to this lawsuit about a financial settlement, although their statements are in direct conflict with each other. P. Diddy's lawyer stated that ‘Mr. Combs has been the victim of Ms. Ventura's ongoing demand for 30 million, with the threat of writing a damaging book about their relationship if he did not comply, something that has been outright rejected and dismissed as extortion.’
Cassie's lawyer has a different perspective: ‘Mr. Combs offered Ms. Ventura an eight-figure sum in exchange for her silence and to prevent this lawsuit. She rejected his offer.’
The details of the abuse are extensively discussed in this article from The New York Times, and are truly horrific: she was forced to take ecstasy and ketamine and was repeatedly kicked in the face in a car because she was talking to another talent agent. She asked P. Diddy if she could please leave, to go to her parents, but he did not allow that.
It gets much worse: when Cassie started dating Kid Cudi in 2012, P. Diddy was anything but happy about it. According to the official complaint, ‘the car of Kid Cudi exploded during their relationship on his driveway.’ Kid Cudi has stated that all the allegations in the complaint are true according to him.
This will not be the last word on the matter, but it is very disappointing and especially intense to read. Read here everything about the lawsuit and the allegations.
