Science says: men's penises are getting bigger

sex and the city women

Yeah, with a title like that, I definitely have your attention, right? And maybe your first reaction was that this is only good news, but unfortunately: scientists are not happy at all with these findings. They conducted a study which showed that the penis has grown extremely hard on average over the last thirty years (from 1942 to 2021). The striking thing about this is that it only concerns a penis in full regalia. That's right: an erection. When there is no erection, the lengths have remained the same. Quite strange, right?

Especially since it's not a small difference. Erects have grown by 24 percent in men over 29 years. To put it in centimeters: they went from an average of 12.3 centimeters to 15.2 centimeters. And that worries the researchers. ‘This change has happened in a short time,’ says Eisenberg, one of the researchers. ‘When we see such a rapid change, it means that something powerful is going on in our bodies. We need to try to track down these causes and determine what it is that causes these changes.’

The cause of this natural penis enlargement over the years is still unclear, but they suspect it has to do with exposure to more chemicals, such as pesticides or products that ensure hygiene. These could mess with the hormonal system, leading to physical changes, such as in this case a larger erect penis.

The reason behind this research is also important to mention: researchers discovered that the amount of sperm in men has been decreasing over the years. In their search for the cause of this, they stumbled upon this new fact. Size does matter, especially when it suddenly grows a lot in a short time.
