The reality series you want to watch if you love drama

In the meantime, I no longer feel ashamed of it; I love reality TV. Of course, it's brainless and sure, it's almost always drama for nothing, but I really enjoy it. Besides, it also helps me relax, and compared to all that drama, my own little life is quite manageable. Always nice. However, I've kind of played them all out; the latest season of Selling Sunset is already over, I'm completely caught up with The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, and I don't really find the current season of Temptation Island worth the effort. Recognizable? Then I have the tip for you.

Watch Vanderpump Rules. Seriously, you won't regret it. If you have too much time, you can start with the first season, but if you just want as much drama as possible, I would recommend starting with the latest season (number 10 already). You just need to quickly read up on who is who (and what the relationships are, although that becomes clear pretty quickly) and then it's really a season with a level of drama that I haven't seen often in reality series.

I'll give some spoilers — no worries, it doesn't make it any less fun, actually it makes it more fun — because it's quite something. The series revolves around the staff of Sur, the restaurant of Lisa Vanderpump (who you might know from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills). Additionally, the two Toms, Tom Sandoval and Tom Schwartz, also have their own business. The former Tom has been in a relationship with Ariana for nine years, and the latter Tom is no longer with Katie, with whom he was also together for many years.

Together with James, Scheana, Lala, and Raquel, they form a close-knit group... Until it comes out in the tenth season that Tom Sandoval has been having a months-long affair with Raquel, who is the BFF of his girlfriend Ariana. DRAMA. She is thus betrayed by her best friend and her boyfriend with whom she was together for nine years, all while the cameras are rolling. The season has now ended and the reunions are coming online and really: there is so much drama.

Tom getting kicked out of the house, Raquel having a complete breakdown and really falling in love with her best friend's boyfriend, Ariana going completely crazy (understandably) over those two, and the rest getting hilariously involved.

This affair is now called ‘Scandoval’ in America and has been dominating the media for several weeks, but unfortunately, Vanderpump Rules is not that popular in the Netherlands yet. And that's a shame. This is such a joy. Just start watching, you won't regret it. You can watch the series on Hayu, just like all the other reality series (like all the Housewives and Below Deck).
