Science says: the more often you see your mother, the longer she lives

When was the last time you saw your mother? Or even called her? After reading this research, you won't know how quickly to run to the phone, because researchers at the University of California have discovered that the more often you see your mother, the longer she lives. Strange, right?
The study followed 1600 participants with an average age of 71. Nearly 23 percent of participants who reported feeling lonely died within six years of the start of the study, compared to just 14 percent of those who said they had enough company. The researchers found that the older you get, the more value you place on your personal relationships. As a result, these relationships play an increasingly larger role in your life and, as time goes by, they automatically have more influence on your (mental) health. Conversations with and company from loved ones are therefore very important for aging people, and let's be honest: for yourself, an evening under your mother's wings is sometimes exactly what you need, even if you're already 30+.
So you can't miss your mother for a long time yet? Then invite her over for coffee (or drinks) a bit more often. It strengthens your bond and there's a good chance you'll get to enjoy her for even longer because of it.
