Science says: so many people you kiss before you find the one

Of course, there are always exceptions to the rules, but generally speaking, many frogs are kissed before the true prince or princess is found. Well, that's just how it works, and just because it's not The Right One doesn't mean it isn't The Right One-For-Now. You have to see it this way: every kiss brings you closer to your soulmate. And according to research, you have to endure quite a bit before you typically run into the one.

Casumo researched this among both men and women. And what turned out? Men have to kiss quite a few more before they find the one: on average, they kiss 25 people before settling down with their true love. They usually find that around the age of 27 (the same goes for women), after they have (on average) gone through five failed relationships.

Women have better luck: they have about 22 kissing partners to go through before their prince(ss) on the white horse appears.

But, as I said: there are always exceptions to the rules. There are also people who stay with their first kiss and never part ways. And then there's me, the other extreme: a 33-year-old single with failed relationships who — to be honest — has long surpassed 22. Is there still hope? Sometimes I fear not.

I'm not the only one in this, by the way, because according to the same research, 30 percent indicate that they have completely given up hope of finding love. I can relate to that.
