It's time to admit it: I'm totally on board with everything Gen Z comes up with everything Gen Z thinks of. Think of a bare minimum Monday, future journaling or lazy girl workouts; I think it's all fantastic. And when it comes to dating, they have it much better figured out. Playing games, playing hard to get, and ghosting is so 2016 according to them, and they are absolutely right. Gen Z dating is all about transparency and efficiency, so it's no surprise that they've come up with a new dating trend: stack dating.

What is stack dating?
It's a brilliant idea because with stack dating, you are never too busy for your love life. With stack dating, you don't set aside an entire evening, or maybe even a day for your date, no, you stack your appointments. For example, you might grab a quick coffee during your break or join a sports class together. This way, you can plan your dates between your daily activities, which takes a lot of pressure off. You also don't have time to talk yourself into a panic attack while putting on an extra layer of makeup and your room is cluttered with the contents of your closet. You just go on a date as you are, which allows you to get to know each other better right away. The goal of stack dating is to get to know potential partners in a more efficient way, while each date feels more like an informal gathering than a big romantic event. Stress-free is the key word.

Zo pak je het aan
If you want to date a Gen Z'er, there's a good chance you'll do your date a big favor by suggesting stack dating. The trick is to communicate your desire for short dates without making it feel like just a task on your to-do list. For example, say: ‘I love short first meetings. What do you think about that?’ Your date's response can be positively surprising, as most daters probably find it perfectly fine not to reserve an entire half-day for someone they barely know. By the way, you don't have to maintain this throughout the entire relationship. If it clicks and you want to spend more time with your sweetheart, then you should definitely do that, but if you're not sure whether he or she is right for you, then it's fine to view the situation literally by the hour. Happy dating!
