With Sofia Richie as the new it-girl, suddenly everyone wants to look as classy and timeless as she does. Of course, beautiful, polished nails cannot be missing. So it's time to trade those ultra-long nails with wild colors for a shorter, more sophisticated look. And this ‘lip oil manicure’ trend is perfect for that.

The nails are inspired by the famous Dior lip oils (shocker) that became super hot last year. I must admit: I also jumped on the hype back then and since then it has been a staple in my bag. No wonder I'm mega excited about the fact that nail artists have adopted the trend.

Thanks to the au naturel look of the nails, you finally have a timeless color that you won't get tired of after a week. Because let's be honest: a crazy color is fun until you get tired of it. Then you do everything to hide that visible regrowth from here to Tokyo. Fortunately, with these ‘simple’ nails, it doesn't stand out at all. Always nice.

Now, it's not the intention to smear your expensive lip oil on your nails. For this, you simply use a layer of pink nail polish that is a bit transparent. This should create that lip oil finish, just like you would apply it over your lipstick or lip liner. Super simple but oh so beautiful. I now know what I'm going to show my nail stylist next time.
