Just chatting about episode 3 of Real Girls In The Jungle

Real girls in the jungle

Last week I had the biggest luxury problem you can imagine. I was sitting in the sun, it was about 30 degrees, in the most beautiful hotel I have ever been to, in Dubai... And I was really bummed out. The first two episodes of Echte Meisjes In De Jungle were online and you can't watch Videoland in Dubai. Videoland, what are you doing to me? I was messing around with all sorts of VPNs, but no, nothing worked. Well, it's nice to come home like this, with three episodes to go. Do you think I had a lot of thoughts? Oh yes. It's such a joy that this show is back, I must say. Episode 3, let’s goooo.

1. Because I couldn't discuss the first two episodes, I want to take a moment of silence for the fact that 00s heartthrob Valerio is back.

2. Episode 3 and two people have already been eliminated. This is a pace that has never been seen before in something like Expeditie Robinson.

3. To be completely honest: I didn't know that Louisa before this program, but to suddenly have a moment of taking responsibility and starting a story about ‘being a cat in a tight spot’ and already proclaiming on social media that she deserves a second chance — I find it the medium.

4. Diva is definitely the favorite of the season, right? We love an unproblematic queen.

5. Valerio must be thinking, like: damn, I come out of my years-long presenting hibernation for this show, what kind of people are these, how come I can't just be a VJ at TMF again and what do you mean, TMF no longer exists?

6. I find this whole show really an emotional rollercoaster. Annabel's team is almost singing Kumbaya together, wonderfully peaceful, totally in their element — during the next shot, Michella is yelling at everyone and vice versa. Gone zen. It's peak stress-watching.

7. I find it really scary to say something about Michella because she nowadays starts a social media war with just about everyone. For someone who thinks everyone should just act normal and doesn't like drama, she is quite a bit explosive and... Dramatic.

8. While I'm typing this, she is yelling in Channah's face: ‘What then? WHAT THEN?’ and kicking a pot, so I actually think my point is proven.

9. Okay, one more thing: why do the people who scream the loudest always tell others not to scream?

10. HAHA. This transition. From kicking pots to Annabel and Gaby hugging: ‘I'm really so glad I know you now!’ My lord, this show has just brought together World War III and a yoga retreat in one square kilometer.

11. It's great that Jill seems to be thinking in nine out of ten shots we see of her: what am I doing here again?

12. Am I the only one who really sees unknown people walking in the background in many shots? Are these just locals? Is this secretly not a jungle but just a busy location in Laos? Come on with the answer.

13. My goodness, I found this episode quite intense, but it seems that next week it will be even more of a war. I need to recover from it. Just a power nap.

14. Next week time for a shot game? Every time Michella speaks a sentence instead of yelling, you take a shot. I wanted to do it the other way around, but then everyone will be wasted within five minutes, although we run the risk of staying sober here. Hmm. I’ll think about it some more.
