According to viewers, this is the best documentary ever released on Netflix

The Deepest Breath

Finally, it's online, and I was really looking forward to this: The Deepest Breath on Netflix. A personal victory too, I must say, that I have seen this. I actually suffer a lot from thalassophobia, so I was quite uncomfortable in front of the TV. Thalassophobia is a phobia of deep waters like the ocean or sea — waters where you can't see the bottom and therefore don't know what is going on down there. Just writing about it makes me nervous.

But this documentary seemed so special that I gathered my courage, and luckily I did: viewers call this documentary ‘the best ever to appear on Netflix’. I'm not entirely sure if I agree with that, but it definitely ranks high in my top ten.

The Deepest Breath is about freediver Alessia Zecchini and her colleague-friend Stephen Keenan. He accompanied her during all her dives, in case something went wrong. He was specialized in rescue operations, and with a dangerous sport like this, you certainly don't want to take any risks. Diving fifty meters down without equipment was something Zecchini didn't shy away from. It's quite important that there is always someone on stand-by, in case something really goes wrong.

Well, you might expect it: things indeed went terribly wrong, but probably not in the way you're thinking right now. I also don't want to give too much away about the documentary; it would be a shame to spoil everything. But believe me: watch it. Because of the beautiful images, touching stories, and bizarre tales. This will definitely leave an impression on you.
