These are the hair trends for the upcoming summer

Yesss, summer is coming, so it's high time for a fresh summer haircut. What am I going to do? I'm not quite sure yet, but if we are to believe Vogue – and of course we do – it should all be as au naturel as possible. No crazy colors, no crazy hairstyles; this summer we keep it nice and simple. Sometimes that's nice too. Curious? With the following six hair trends, you'll be completely up to date this summer.

1. The 70s just-out-of-bed look
To create this look, you don't have to do much. And by little, I really mean nothing at all. Let your hair air dry and leave it as it is. Or well, maybe just a bit of oil on the dry ends and you're done. That messy just-out-of-bed look is back. It saves you time and a lot of heat.

2. The mullet
If you thought a mullet was only trendy for men, you are very mistaken. This summer, it's back for women to take the clippers over the sides. If you love an edgy look, I would definitely go for it.

3. The 90s blow-out
A 90s blow-out à la Cindy Crawford has never done anyone wrong, to be honest. And luckily, it's completely hot again this summer. I'm a big fan, although I must admit it takes a bit of time to achieve such a voluminous mane. So get those rollers out of the closet and start blow-drying. It might take a while.

4. The shiny cut
How every hairstyle had to be as bleached (and dead) as possible last year, the opposite is happening now. For the upcoming season, we should strive for as shiny and healthy as possible. You do this by dyeing your hair in a natural color and soaking it in nourishing serums for that extra shine. It costs you a bit, but then you'll enjoy it for a long time.

5. The tied knot
A messy bun will never go out of style, but creating such an imperfect knot is a bit harder than we always think beforehand. And there's a simple trick for that: put your hair in a high ponytail, split your hair in two, and tie a knot. You can pin the leftover strands, but you can also leave it just like Rihanna does. The messier, the better.

6. The blunt bob
Another hairstyle we've been unable to get enough of for decades: the bob. Will this ever disappear? I don't think so. For this summer, it should be as simple as possible with one length to the jaw, just like Hailey Bieber. The only thing you need to do is tuck the front strands behind your ears while it dries to create a little ‘bend’. This way, you'll get just a bit more movement in the hair.
