Vandaag tippen we restaurant Nela in Amsterdam

So many stories were already going around about this new hotspot; I hadn't been there yet myself and that made me restless. Everyone was incredibly enthusiastic about Nela, and I had no idea what they were all talking about. Well, a problem with a very simple solution: make that reservation. So said, so done, so last Tuesday I finally had dinner at the (packed) Nela.
And I can already tell you that the hype is very real. On a Tuesday evening, it was just absolutely full, the atmosphere was really top-notch (it felt like a Friday night) and there was nothing to complain about the service; they took their time for you, had great recommendations for wine and food, or were just up for a chat.
Let's start with the wine, because that was quite a moment of choice stress. There is so much choice that I eventually let my dining companion decide. It became a gigantic delicious Sancerre that I would want to drink every day (but I probably shouldn't).
I had hardly lunched that day, precisely because I had already scouted the menu online and wanted to try as much as possible. And thank goodness; this was incredibly delicious. Whether you like fish (you must order the toro and the langoustine), meat (the Iberico Salamanca, the Beef Ribeye Tartare, and the slow-cooked short ribs... So delicious) or prefer to stick to vegetarian (definitely take the padróns, the leek, and artichoke): everything here is really so well seasoned.

You understand: I ate myself silly. But when they brought out the dessert, I gave in... Make sure you really have enough space, because you want everything here. And keep this in mind for the summer evenings, because the terrace here is amazing.
