Wiekes facts about the body

It's that time again to delight you (or rather ruin your day – that's more likely, I'm afraid) with some unusual facts. This time about the human body, and I always feel a bit uncomfortable about that, like when I think about how your bones are currently soaking wet with blood and other substances. Isn't that a bizarre idea?

Alright, on to the facts, bet you didn't know these?

1. You're actually only ten percent ‘human’
Uh, okay, how so? Ten percent of the cells in your body are actually human, the rest consists of trillions of microbes, including a lot of bacteria that you need for your health.

2. Your stomach can blush
Wait, what? Seriously; when your cheeks turn red because you're blushing, your stomach blushes too. That's due to the adrenaline rush in your blood pressure.

3. You can vomit your feces
Oh hell no. This is called ‘fecal vomiting’ and fortunately, it's very rare. What a terror if this happens to you.

4. When you listen to music, your heart rate can change
It adjusts to the rhythm of the music. Pretty cool, right?

5. If you suffer from extreme sleep deprivation, your brain can start to eat itself
They tested this on mice, very unpleasant.

6. You can't swallow and breathe at the same time
And now you tried it anyway, didn't you?

7. Children who breathe through their mouths instead of their noses are more likely to lisp

8. Your vagina has the same acidity as a tomato

9. The longest pregnancy in a human ever lasted 375 days
Can you imagine... Beulah Hunter gave birth in LA after being 100 days overdue.

10. Most people have a heart attack on Monday
See, Monday is the dumbest day of the week?
