Why you want to go to The Hoxton this month

It is one of my favorite hotels, and whenever I go on a city trip, I always check if there is a location in the respective city. My last visit to The Hoxton was in Williamsburg, New York, and it was so nice again. Every hotel of The Hoxton has the same pleasant atmosphere, you can eat so well everywhere, they have delicious beds (which I always find very important) and it is really more than just a hotel. They elevate a hotel bar and a lobby to a higher level at The Hoxton; it is really a hotspot in itself besides being a hotel. Our Daniëlle was at the location in Paris a few weeks ago and she just can't stop talking about it.
In fact, she is almost planning a new trip because The Hoxton now has something really fun in their hotels in European capitals. In Barcelona, London, Paris, and Rome, but also in Amsterdam, local artists have taken over the hotel for the entire month of September. They do this in collaboration with BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, which brings in the best bartenders to turn the cocktails into true works of art. Art meets drinkable art, so to speak.

In Amsterdam, for example, Frederique Matti has taken over the location of The Hoxton on the Herengracht. She draws her inspiration from the small, seemingly insignificant moments in life, which she captures with thick brush strokes. You see the busy Amsterdam (night)life reflected in her work, but also the coziness that the city knows during the day. Expect a lot of color and energy from her. What goes well with that? The Spirit of Resilience, which comes from BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, a cocktail that symbolizes our Dutch windmills; it contains dragon gin, Green Chartreuse, apple syrup, lime juice, and of course BOMBAY SAPPHIRE, finished with a banana leaf.
Fun fact: Baz Luhrmann is the creative director of the BOMBAY SAPPHIRE campaign called Saw This Made. With this, they give emerging artists a platform by temporarily giving them an exhibition at The Hoxton. If you don't know Baz Luhrmann (I can hardly imagine): he is the man behind, for example, Romeo & Juliet, Moulin Rouge!, Elvis, and The Great Gatsby. So not a small player.

And for me, the ideal opportunity to plan a cultural afternoon, combined with a cozy drink – it can still be done all month of September. So if you're not near Amsterdam but in one of the other four European capitals: definitely stop by and don't forget to order the cocktail.
