The most beautiful hotel bars in the Netherlands

hotel bars Netherlands

I genuinely find it a shame that we don't go to hotel bars more often in the Netherlands to have a drink; it's so much more common abroad. In America, for example: so many restaurants, bars, and even clubs are located in hotels. But when I was in Dubai earlier this year, almost all the hotspots were in hotels as well. I live in Amsterdam, and it never actually occurred to me to go have a drink in a hotel bar somewhere. I decided to change that, because after a bit of research, I discovered that there are so many beautiful hotel bars in the Netherlands.

And we don't do gatekeeping here, so of course, I'm sharing them with you. If you have any tips that aren't on this list: let me know. From this list, it seems that trendy hotel bars are on the rise, and I think that's absolutely great.

1. Ultramarijn, in hotel voco The Hague, The Hague
Kneuterdijk 8

This bar looks so cool; it's located in an old bank building. The old gigantic vault (including the massive vault door) is actually IN the bar. They serve everything here, from cocktails to flutes. It has already become somewhat of a concept in The Hague. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

2. Cielo Skybar, in hotel INNSiDE by Meliá, Amsterdam
Eduard van Beinumstraat 40

The word ‘skybar’ says it all: you have an amazing view here, at 65 meters high. It's located in the Zuidas, but due to the great height, you can see the entire city — and the large windows are almost all around. The food is also delicious (Spanish), and the Pornstar Martini might just be the best I've ever had (with a hint of coconut).

3. Fitz’s Bar, in hotel Pillows Maurits at the Park, Amsterdam
Mauritskade 61

Just opened and a bit of the inspiration for this list; what an amazing hotel, and the bar is really beautiful too. The inspiration for the interior is clearly the roaring twenties, and it has a truly international vibe.

4. Current Rooftop, in hotel The Den, Den Bosch
Magistratenlaan 54

I really love rooftop bars and I always try to visit one when I'm on a city trip or vacation; whether it's abroad or in the Netherlands. Extra fun is that they also have a large rooftop terrace here, where it's more than pleasant to hang out in the summer.

5. Pulitzer’s Bar, in hotel Pulitzer, Amsterdam
Prinsengracht 323

Of course, this one has to be on the list, because until recently, this was the only hotel bar I really liked to visit. Also for dining, by the way, in the adjacent restaurant Jansz. (which is also part of the Pulitzer). The cocktails here are *chef’s kiss* and just because of the unique building, it's worth a visit.

6. COCO, in hotel Relais & Châteaux Weeshuis Gouda
Spieringstraat 1

Let's start with a sidenote: in this hotel, they also have a high tea in the style of Emily in Paris, including macarons, berets, and of course, champagne. So fun. But even if you just want to have a drink, COCO is a great choice. Especially if you love champagne; it's a champagne bar, so they have many exclusive varieties. Enjoy.
