The hotspots in Kos that you want to know

Two weeks ago I put Zakynthos in the spotlight, so now it's time for another Greek gem: Kos. This island couldn't be left behind. Crystal clear sea water, countless bays, and Greek hospitality are simply good for a person. And fortunately, that's well arranged on Kos. Copy the following hotspots into your to-do note, because you want to see or taste these.
1. Restaurant Oromedon
Dinner with a view is taken very literally at this well-known restaurant in the higher village of Zia. In the evenings, you can enjoy a view over the entire island including sunset. And that's less than half an hour by car from Kos town. One downside: you have to reserve well in advance, because you're not the only one who wants to go here.

2. Restaurant Lofaki
In case Oromedon is fully booked: no stress. At Lofaki in Kos town, you can eat just as well with perhaps an even prettier view. So don't be surprised if you see a marriage proposal happening right in front of you, because this romantic spot is known for that. As for the food: try the orzo with shrimp. So delicious.
3. Restaurant Mama Rosa
Tired of blocks of feta and gyros? You can enjoy a familiar plate of pasta at Mama Rosa in Kos town, also known as the best Italian on the island. They have pizzas in all shapes and sizes — be careful: the pizza XL is really an XL size — and the tiramisu is absolutely delightful. Just make sure to reserve in advance to secure a table.
4. Mylos Beach Bar
Compared to all other beach bars in Kos, Mylos is number one for me. The modern interior, the quick service, the not too loud music: it's just very relaxed there. For just ten euros, you and a friend can spend a whole day on a sunbed here. And for those who still want to party in the evening: after midnight, Mylos turns into a nightlife bar.

5. Paradise beach
A classic, but it had to be included. In my opinion, it's one of the most beautiful beaches in Kos. It is located in a beautiful bay with crystal clear water, and that's enough for me. Furthermore, there is no shortage of dining options: both on the way there and on the beach itself, there are plenty of choices.
6. Camel Beach
It's a bit of a trek to get there, but it's worth it. Or rather, to be honest, there's not much there besides a few sunbeds and umbrellas. You really have to go for the stunning view and the clear blue sea. Ideal if you're looking for peace and quiet.
7. Boat trip to three islands
Normally, I'm not really into boat trips (say hi to seasickness), but for this one, I'm happy to make an exception. You sail past Pserimos, Kalymnos, and Plati: three small islands close to Kos. While sailing, you have time to explore these hotspots and swim at a few bays. Honestly a recommendation, especially if you're out with kids.
