12 things we used to love but can no longer stand

Yes unfortunately, we cannot ignore that the things we used to find very fun lose their spark as we get older. Snow for example. I can't remember the last time I was happy about snow. As a twelve-year-old, I could look forward to it all year round, and now I get stressed at the thought of having to get out of bed earlier to scrape the car windows. Recognizable? I have a few more nostalgic moments that you would rather skip by now.
1. Sleepover
How you used to do everything to convince your parents that you could sleep over, now you do everything to end up in your own bed at home. Really everything.
2. Swimming pool
I can't even think about inhaling all that chlorine water again just to struggle through those wet hair. Just give me a day at the beach.
3. Birthday
As a child, I counted down the days, and now I have a mental breakdown every year on my birthday. It has become a moment of realization instead of a moment of happiness.
4. Being sick
How wonderful was it to be pampered at home when you were sick? Nowadays, you lie on the couch with a guilty conscience, and there are still thirty tasks that really need to be done.
5. Staying up late
We all know how cool it was to tell at school that you went to bed at midnight, but now those extra hours of sleep are vital.
6. Grocery shopping
When you went to the supermarket with your parents, you already knew in advance that you could decide what went into the candy cupboard. Now you walk around that shelf in a U-turn and you could cry when you see the amount you have to pay.
7. Shopping
Just thinking about the Zara store makes me overstimulated, while it used to be my favorite outing. Just let me order online.
8. Mail
I don't even dare to open that mailbox anymore, I hate all those letters so much. And to think that as a child I jumped for joy if there was something for me in there.
9. Traveling
Carefree stepping onto that plane? Say goodbye to that as you get older. If your suitcase gets lost, you have to solve that. Or losing your passport. Good luck solving that abroad.
10. Christmas
Christmas used to sound magical, now you are only busy planning a dinner, thinking of gifts, and entertaining your family. A full-time job in itself.
11. Valentine's Day
This was the day every little girl looked forward to with excitement, but nowadays it is seen as a commercial hassle. Oh well, a good reason to eat some extra chocolate.
12. Meeting new people
If only we could make friends as easily as we did on vacation when we were younger. You would have ten new acquaintances within a day. Make that ten years now, if not longer.
