This is how you know your cat loves you

I haven't lived with a roommate for about ten years and I'm perfectly fine with that. Well, unless you count my cat Pebbles, but I don't see her as a roommate; she just belongs to me. Yep, I totally get it if you're seeing all the red flags now: I am indeed a crazy cat lady and I'm owning it. But hey, the love is completely mutual, you know. Everything on the list below I can check off: the checklist to know if your cat really loves you.

1. Your cat blinks both eyes at you
And it's not just regular blinking they do, but when they look at you (when they hold that gaze and then blink softly) that's a declaration of love in cat language.

2. You get gifts
Well, it's not always pleasant if you have an outdoor cat, but that caught mouse or bird that is laid down for you is because your kitty loves you a lot. My cat doesn't go outside, so I often get toys or socks laid down for me, which I find a lot less stressful than living creatures.

3. They sleep on you or near you
A cat is vulnerable when he/she sleeps and wants to be in a familiar environment; that means you. And if they prefer to sleep on you, it's not just nice and warm because of your body temperature, they also want to be as close to you as possible.

4. They lie with their belly up
The belly is the most vulnerable part of a cat's body, so when they show that, they trust you one hundred percent.

5. Making biscuits
When a cat kneads you with its paws (in English this is called ‘making biscuits’), it means you are very loved and that your cat is very content.

6. They talk to you
Of course, excessive meowing can indicate that something is wrong, but if your cat looks content and happy and is quite chatty, it means your cat really appreciates you.

7. They say goodbye when you come home
Cats have very good hearing and can even recognize the sound of your specific car. Is your meowing four-legged friend already at the door when you come home? Then you are not only missed but also very loved.
