If you know me a little, you know that I will do everything I can to make your journey through the online dating jungle a bit easier to navigate. So when I recently stumbled upon the new release of Tinder, I couldn't wait to share their findings with you. The popular dating app has revealed how to create an optimal profile and what you need to do to write a catchy bio to increase your chances of getting a date.

Let's start with the bio. According to research agency Opinium, which surveyed a thousand 18 to 24-year-olds, the ideal biography is 15-45 words long and there is a strong preference for bios that indicate what their potential match is specifically looking for. With the relationship type feature, Tinder makes this requirement a bit easier. Here you can indicate in a few words what you are looking for, such as monogamy, an open relationship, or polyamory. Additionally, more than half of these young singles indicated that those who share their hobbies and interests in their bio are more likely to attract their attention.

But be careful: 30 percent of Gen Z is rejected upfront due to poor spelling and grammar in their biography. A long checklist of your ’type’ also gives many Tinder users the creeps. So what should you do? Tinder recommends keeping your bio fresh and relevant. For example, describe your favorite place for a first date or mention your favorite TV show.

Are words not your strong suit? No worries: ultimately, your photos make your profile. A small note: 51 percent of the surveyed singles find a photo with an ex the biggest turn-off (duh) and 39 percent do not like heavily edited photos. The golden ratio is to use four to five photos to show who you are and what kind of personality you have. Showing your personal style is important, as more than 40 percent of singles swipe right more often for someone with a good sense of fashion.

So there you have it: the formula for the perfect profile. Suddenly finding love seems like a piece of cake, right? Good luck and happy dating!
