7x how to avoid a shiny face

Who walks down the street at the end of the day like a disco ball, or is it just me and my oily skin? It can have its advantages, think of fewer wrinkles and no dry skin in winter. But that's about all there is to say. Most of the time, I look like I've just come out of a spinning class. Not ideal. If you, like me, powder yourself completely every day, here are seven tips to incorporate into your routine.
1. Use a gentle facial cleanser
Always cleanse your skin before applying makeup. But be careful: don't choose a stubborn scrub or cleanser. These will only dry your skin out further, causing you to produce more oil throughout the day. Therefore, use a milder water-based product like a gel.
2. Never skip a primer
Don't underestimate a primer. Besides the fact that it mattifies your face in one go, it makes your pores less visible and prevents a disco ball effect. A primer specifically for your oily eyelids is also definitely not a bad idea. This way, your makeup stays on your eyelid instead of underneath it. Always nice.
3. The tissue trick
Take a tissue and dab it over your T-zone. After that, apply some white, translucent powder and you can go for a few more hours. A better alternative is blotting papers, but you have to have those on hand.
4. Be careful with highlighter
Highlighter can be quite tricky, especially if you apply it in the wrong places. If your nose shines quickly, be careful with your highlighter before you blind the neighbor across the street.
5. Always use a setting spray
Besides the fact that your makeup can withstand wind and rain, it also keeps your shine in check. A tip from me to you: the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray. This stuff is just like hairspray.
6. Avoid cream products
A very creamy concealer, blush, or bronzer doesn't always work in your favor. Opt for a stick or powder instead. The same effect, but with a bit less shine.
7. Use powder puffs
From now on, apply your powder with a sponge or a powder puff. This way, you ‘press’ the powder better in place, making it automatically last longer.
