Wow: with this product, you can cover any pimple

Every morning it remains a recurring dilemma: should I cover those craters on my chin with three layers of concealer or leave them as they are? Nine times out of ten, I naturally choose the first option. Does my skin actually get better from it? Unfortunately not. Because the amount of makeup you plaster over it doesn't really matter; you can still see the pimple. Plus: concealer and foundation clog your sebaceous glands, so your impurities don't get any smaller. If only it were that easy. Luckily, we have Rihanna in our lives. And not just because of her age-old guilty pleasure songs, no, her own makeup brand Fenty Beauty has now come up with a very special product: the Fenty Skin Blemish Defeat’r it is.

You would think it’s just another spot treatment that you have to dab on your pimples before going to bed, but that’s not the case this time. The Blemish Defeat’r is simply used during your makeup routine. You apply a small amount of gel to the relevant pimple. You let it dry briefly and you will see that a sort of protective layer forms. You can apply a concealer or foundation over this. Not only is there less texture (which makes makeup automatically look better on the skin), but your pimple is also protected against bacteria. Ideal for those people (I’m one of them) who would rather do nothing else than pick at their skin all day.

Oh, and it contains salicylic acid, also known as salicylzuur. This works wonders for unclogging pores and gives your acne that extra push. Always nice.

Yep, I was just as fascinated as you when I saw it come by. And frustrated. Because how is it possible that this product only exists now? I could have really used it when I was fifteen and first encountered acne. It would have saved me a lot of mental breakdowns.

You can buy it online at Fenty Beauty and it is as we speak still on sale. It’s already waiting for me in my mailbox at home because I’m going to need it badly. Next week I’m starting my first dose of roaccutane. According to my dermatologist, the initial period is going to be quite ‘intense‘, so it’s going to be a lovely battlefield on my skin. Can’t wait.
