It has been a huge trend for two years now: the culinary board. The cheese board is retro. Why should we limit ourselves to just a board full of cheese? FavorFlavs Lauretta was completely done with that overload of foodie boards and had the great wish that this trend would remain in 2022. That hasn't quite worked out: new creations keep popping up. The latest is conceived by Chickslovefood: the poffertjes board.
And you really want to make that for your next drinks night. I'm sure even Lauretta will realize that she completely missed the mark with her no-boards-in-2023 wish.
Here's how to make the poffertjes pan
As is the case with every culinary board, there isn't really a recipe for the poffertjes board. You mainly need a nice, large wooden board and ingredients of your choice. With a poffertjes board, it's handy to first make a batch of poffertjes, otherwise the star of the board will be missing. It's like going to a Justin Bieber concert and Justin isn't there. Those who are a bit culinary inclined make the poffertjes themselves, but I won't stop you if you go for a ready-made version; after all, it's your poffertjes party! Furthermore, you can fill the board with:
- Fruit, such as raspberries, strawberries, and blueberries
- A jug of syrup
- A jug of warm chocolate sauce
- Bowls of (powdered) sugar
- Crispy fried bacon
