Trend on TikTok: how often do men think about the Roman Empire?

I have no idea how it is with you, but my entire For You Page is filled with women asking their boyfriend, brother, father, or other man in their life how often he thinks about the Roman Empire. And the answers genuinely surprised me: only one time was the answer: ‘Uh, never, why on earth would I think about the Roman Empire?’ All other times the answer ranged from ‘a few times a week’ to ‘daily’. What am I missing here? Why do those men think so much about the Roman Empire?!

According to TikTok account @themasculineedge the answer is actually quite obvious: men have felt the urge to conquer for ages — and it's not just about women. Whether it was a piece of land in the past or nowadays a new job or promotion; men want to fight for something and the logic behind it would thus go all the way back to the Roman Empire. Everything revolved around that conquest, but it was also a very important period for all sorts of inventions. From money to the alphabet: it all originated in the time of the Roman Empire.
