Users are going to find this update of iOS 17 very annoying

By

A new update is coming for iPhone users, so brace yourself: this is being called the most intense update in years. Many features will look quite different, and I am someone who struggles with change, so I am already getting nervous about it. My muscle memory goes haywire when an app is moved somewhere else on my home screen. Sound familiar? Then you’re going to have a tough time with this.

The change that will bring the most complaints is — I dare to bet money on it — the relocation of the icon to end a phone call. As we all know, it is currently in the middle at the bottom, but in iOS 17 you will find it somewhere else: in the spot where the icon for ‘contacts’ currently is. Bottom left in the menu, which is visible when you are on a call, and I am already getting an error from that.

It’s going to get even worse: in the spot where the icon to end the call currently is, the option to FaceTime will appear. Sorry Apple, but now you are just being incredibly mean; hundreds of thousands of people are going to accidentally FaceTime people when they actually want to hang up. Aaargh.

Is it going to be nothing but misery with the new iOS 17 update? Fortunately not: they promise a better autocorrect (it was about time) and we will get the option to put our phone in standby mode. By the way, if you can’t wait to try all this; a Beta version will be available in September, but there may still be some bugs here and there.
