From faraway trips (which seems to be possible next year) to closer to home (the weekend trip is already planned); this really helps me get through the winter blues. Bali But for the most beautiful destinations, according to Booking, you don't have to go far from home at all. In fact, you don't even have to cross the border. Because for the very first time ever (yes, a scoop), there is a Dutch destination in the top ten of the most popular destinations worldwide. And I can give you three chances, but you will never guess this. Antwerp Amsterdam? Wrong. Rotterdam? Wrong. Maastricht? Wroooong. Should I just say it then?.

It is… Drumroll, please… Valkenburg. HAHA. I would seriously find it extremely impressive if you guessed that within three tries — I think that chance is really very small.

This list is compiled by Booking: the ten destinations that have risen the most in bookings in the previous year deserve a spot on the list. And apparently, we and tourists want to stay en masse in Valkenburg, which is why this destination is now among names like Buenos Aires and Portland. Talk about an underdog...
