What you don't expect from the Cannes Film Festival
The last week I have been enjoying myself, because a bucket list item of mine has come true; being present at the Cannes Film Festival. As a big film lover, I wanted this for so long, it all seemed so extravagant and glamorous, and I was convinced that if I were there, it could only be that I would run into Leonardo DiCaprio.
What has succeeded from this? These three things you wouldn't expect from the Cannes Film Festival.
1. The insane parties
Well, I may be a film lover, but I am now convinced that Cannes is mainly about the amazing parties that are happening all week. And very exclusive parties, by the way. We were with Magnum, who had their own beach club on the boulevard of Cannes all week, with a beautiful view over the water, as many Magnum ice creams as you can eat and... Burna Boy as a surprise guest. So cool. During the day, TikToker and singer JVKE performed, who made a song with NASA using data from the sun. Yes, leave the parties to Magnum, they can handle that. Just like coming up with new flavors, by the way, because their two new additions (Starchaser and Sunlover) were continuously available and they are my favorite flavors so far.
2. Cannes is one big fashion show
So fun to see on the street: everyone is walking in evening gowns, in three-piece suits; you see the most beautiful looks passing by on the street. There's a good chance they are all on their way to one of those exclusive parties like Magnum's. Even funnier: the lost tourist who is wide-eyed at all the outfits, limousines, and paparazzi.
3. You don't just run into Leonardo DiCaprio
Aah, unfortunately. But there are more celebs around than you would think. For example, we ran into Irina Shayk at the Magnum beach club and I can tell you: she is truly stunning. Just a few hours earlier, we had dinner at the same restaurant where Eva Longoria was dining at that moment. Yes, you really feel like one of the stars. Next year it will be Leonardo that I run into, I am already manifesting that.
