Why it's a good idea to have a crush on your colleague

It is the age-old question that we still haven't found an answer to: do I really find him attractive, or are we just working together? I have definitely had my fair share of this too. That strange attraction to someone who is actually not your type at all, but who becomes more appealing because of the way he does his job. Or maybe it's because you spend more time together than with anyone else. Whatever it is, having a crush on your colleague is actually a great idea. If you handle it professionally; no one is charmed by a scandal in the copy room. (I am not speaking from experience here. Really.) Anyway, that work crush can be very good for you, and for the following reasons.
You are less likely to miss a day at work
Extra work? Staying longer? That's not a problem for you. Missing a day of work doesn't happen often either, since you have something to look forward to every day. This means plus points with the boss, extra money on days you work extra, and extra time with your crush. Talk about a win-win-win!
You are always in a good mood
There is nothing as nice as a work crush, as your day immediately gets better the moment you see him or her. A bad mood at the office doesn't happen to you often. Don't believe that he or she has that much influence on you? Look back at all the interactions you've had with that person. How often has that person put a smile on your face at times when no one else could? Exactly, that's all you need to know about the power of an office crush.
You avoid stress at the office like a pro
This was already the case in high school. If you have set your sights on someone special, you will do everything to run into him or her as often as possible. I always checked the schedules of my high school crush so that I could ‘accidentally’ be nearby when he left his classroom. Now, years later, it's no different. If you have an office fling, you take your lunch break when you know he does and you are right on time at the coffee machine at three o'clock because you know you will run into your crush there. By focusing on this, you hardly notice the stress that hangs over your workplace and you are, ironically, a stable factor for your team.
You do your best to impress
Who has the best office looks in the entire region? You do. In your attempts to attract attention, you dress better, your hair is always on point, and you might even put in more effort at work, especially if he or she is someone with some authority within the company. Whether the crush is mutual or not, these things definitely work in your favor.
Maybe they feel the same way
I will be honest: I have never had a crush on someone I ultimately couldn't win over. Maybe it's because men are just easy to conquer, or because I have mastered all the above points thanks to my experience of over 17 years (as I said: this started in middle school). By the way, the chance is very high that your crush also has a soft spot for you. Just think about it: you two spend at least eight hours a day together, he or she is always found in places where you are, and you talk a lot with each other about things other than just work. That wouldn't happen if you didn't at least find each other a little bit attractive. I mean: you wouldn't do this with Tineke from reception, right? Exactly. So pay extra attention to your crush's behavior next week and who knows, you might discover a mutual connection.
