13 x why we are indeed happy with the rain

I don't know if you've dared to open your weather app these days, but serious 99.9% rain is predicted for the next two weeks. In other words: everything we were hoping not to see in July and August. To avoid sulking about the bad summer weather, we've laid out all the things that are actually nice about the rain for you today. And I can imagine it just comes in time for a good mood.
– Walking in the rain is very healthy
It's mainly the psychological effect that makes walking in the rain so healthy. A walk in the rain is experienced as calming due to the silence (there are few people outside) and the almost hypnotic sound of falling drops. Furthermore, nature looks different: no, not dreary, but rather with more sparkle, making the colors more intense, which surprisingly works well for your mood.
– Your car doesn't need to be washed anymore
It cleans itself.
– The restless feeling of FOMO no longer applies
When you're working and your friends are chilling at the beach.
– With a downpour outside, you make it extra cozy inside
There's hardly a better excuse to curl up under your blanket and light some candles.
– Binge-watching your favorite series on Netflix is no longer a waste of your day
After all, it's *bleep* weather outside.
– Rain creates a bond
How nice is it to complain about the weather together? We totally feel each other and we're all in the same boat.
– Rain contains vitamin B12
Say what? Rain is literally healthy: it contains vitamin B12. Vitamin B12 is important for a well-functioning nervous system, for the production of red blood cells, and gives an extra boost of energy. Bye fatigue, hello free vitamin shot.
– Wasps can't stand rain
I personally find that quite nice. How annoying are wasps in the summer? More annoying than a bit of rain, right?
– Bye hay fever
Rain can wash pollen out of the air, thereby reducing pollen concentration, resulting in much less hay fever complaints.
– Rainwater is good for your hair
Try it: if you've cycled in the rain, your hair feels softer afterwards. Rainwater is less ‘hard’ than tap water. This is because it contains less lime. And after a rain shower, your hair can suddenly start to wave.
– Everything turns beautifully green again
Maybe all that rain is medium good for your mood, but nature is definitely happy with it. Our country has suffered a lot from drought in recent years because there has been very little rain, especially in the summers. As a result, there was little groundwater: water deep in the soil. The good news is that we are now catching up on that shortage.
- Rain brings luck!
Are you getting married these days? Rain brings luck! At least if you're a bit superstitious. Wieke wrote earlier this week that spiritually, rain symbolizes luck, fertility, life, and renewal.
Also in Hinduism, rain on your wedding day is a very good sign. It also stands for renewal and life, but also for commitment and abundance. In ancient times, rain was seen by them as a gift, something to cherish and not take for granted. Rain was a sign of gratitude from the gods above, to thank and reward people for everything they did. Look, that's another way to look at all this.
Furthermore, rain on your wedding day would also mean that your marriage remains strong and endures, but also that your life together will know enormous prosperity. Ka-ching. Thanks Wiek!
– And last but certainly not least: after rain comes sunshine
Promise!
