Saying goodbye is such sweet sorrow

It seemed like a never-ending period, and suddenly it was over. Three weeks in Paris. With a heavy heart, we said goodbye, and with the rouge on my cheeks, I present here my long list of things I, despite those three weeks, did not get around to.
- Long, rectangular croissants from around the corner at the Ritz hotel on Rue Cambon.
- To Marin Montagut, at Rue Madame 48 in the sixth, for really nice souvenirs. Napkins, plates, things that make you happy and that will immediately take you back to Paris when you return home.
- Buying pastries on the top floor of Printemps, because that's where the best pastry chefs in France are. I got this tip from Jannie van der Heijden, and she knows her stuff.
- Having a glass of wine in the garden of Le Bristol. Because that's where I got the idea for my children's book Cleo & Bast and because it's such a terribly chic hotel where all the celebrities stay. Ordinary mortals have something more important to spend their money on, but a glass of wine can be managed. And they also serve a few olives and some nuts with it. They also have a small boutique where they are now selling a collection for the Olympic Games from that nice brand Sporty & Rich in collaboration with their hotel. I walked past it, didn't have time for it.
- Buying such a lovely knitted cardigan designed especially for the Olympic Games at Ralph Lauren on Boulevard de Saint-Germain-des-Prés.
- If we were there anyway, having a hamburger with my husband and girls at Ralph's in that cute little courtyard. They bring you stools where you can put your bag.
- Buying something from that Insta-baker Cedric Grolet (the baker with 11 million followers on Instagram) on Avenue de l’Opéra.
- Buying ballet shoes and ballet supplies at Repetto on Avenue de l’Opéra.
- To the Dior Museum.
- Having a pastry at Angelina on Rue de Rivoli.
- If I'm there anyway, I might as well have a cup of tea at Le Meurice.
- To Ladurée to buy such a lovely scented candle that I will burn so carefully that I still have a bit left until I go back to Paris.
There's only one thing to do: go back.
