An early Christmas gift from Netflix: Our Little Secret with Lindsay Lohan

The spooky season is over and that means we can now shamelessly start counting down to Christmas (although we were already doing that secretly). To really get into the mood, it's of course lovely to watch a Christmas movie. Netflix is early with the gifts this year; together with Lindsay Lohan, they are coming out with a new Christmas movie: ‘Our Little Secret’. And we can almost watch it.

Christmas with your ex

As if the first Christmas with your in-laws isn't exciting enough, it gets even worse for Avery (Lindsay Lohan). Her boyfriend's family party has a rather unwanted guest for her: her ex-boyfriend and almost-fiancé Logan (Ian Harding). The two discover that their current partners are brother and sister, meaning they will have to spend the holidays together. To avoid awkward situations, they decide not to tell anything about their past. But of course, that has the exact opposite effect. A mother-in-law to impress, unresolved feelings, and that one big secret create quite a bit of pressure on Avery.

Mean Girls reunion

Fans of ‘Mean Girls’ can look forward to a small reunion. Besides of course Cady Heron herself, we see another familiar face: school principal Duvall. Actor Tim Meadows plays the role of Stan this time, a family friend who is also at the Christmas celebration. Lindsay was happy to work with him again: “Tim is just such a wonderful person. I love being around him. We had a few moments where I couldn't stop laughing.”

The magic of Christmas movies

This isn't the first time Lindsay has made a Christmas movie with Netflix. In 2022, she starred in ‘Falling for Christmas’. It's a genre that the actress enjoys making: “It's so nice to be able to make movies that are associated with holidays because it's family time.” What made this film a challenge for her: there are quite a few comedic scenes in it, where Lindsay didn't really have much experience.

We'll have to wait a little longer until we can see all the romance and comedy. ‘Our Little Secret’ will be available on Netflix starting November 27.
