Science says: traveling keeps you young

It is of course always tempting to take a quick look at Skyscanner to see if there is a good flight to be found. But how do you justify that next little trip? Good news: you can simply say that it is good for your health. Research shows that traveling can counteract aging. And honestly, we all want that, don't we?.
Slowing down the process
It is (unfortunately) a fact: we will never be younger again. But we can slow down the aging process by traveling. You find yourself in a new environment and meet new people, which gives you energy. Relaxing activities while traveling can help reduce chronic stress and prevent your immune system from working too hard. Normally, your immune system protects you from getting sick, but if it becomes too active, you actually have a higher chance of diseases like diabetes. By doing fun things on vacation, you can release the tension and fatigue in your muscles and bones. This helps your metabolism work better, gives you more energy, and perhaps more importantly, slows down the wear and tear on your body.
An active vacation
Although a vacation (at least for me) is often meant to relax and doing absolutely nothing is wonderful, it can still be good to plan at least one hike. Staying active is (in any case) good for your muscles and joints, and that's not all. During these activities, you are busy internally with your circulation and transporting nutrients and waste products. Your body ensures that it protects itself from external dangers. You just have to take that beautiful hiking route through the mountains; I can think of worse things.
Negative experiences
If the vacation doesn't go exactly as planned, it can feel like you've aged ten years by the time you get home. And in a way, that is somewhat true. Negative experiences while traveling, such as food poisoning or an accident, can actually accelerate the aging process. Fortunately, such situations are exceptions, and you can book your next trip for a good reason. You can leave that anti-aging cream out of your luggage.
