Apparently, you don't have to shower every day

My mornings look the same six days a week. I first have to prepare a bucket of coffee for myself, then I watch the news at least three times in a row because I always miss the weather report, no matter how hard I try to pay attention, and then I head to the bathroom. The only thing that really wakes me up is a shower while enjoying a playlist that gives me energy for the rest of the day.
Now I read that there are people who think that showering every day is not necessary. It has even been shown by scientific research that for people with certain skin types (such as dry skin or eczema) it is better not to stand under that stream of warm water every day. The same research also shows that young people shower more often than older people. Young people shower about 9 times a week, while older people do so an average of 5.5 times. The fact that young people go to parties more often will also contribute to this; after all, it’s not very pleasant to lie down in your fresh bed with sweat from dancing and hair smelling of cigarettes.
As a tip, it is suggested to grab a washcloth more often and scrub the ‘critical zones’ with it. I don’t want to be annoying, but this seems like a truly awful idea to me. Showering is what ‘turns me on’ every day, and if I didn’t shower, I would really feel useless. Of course, I take it a bit easier on Sundays, but there is zero percent chance that I will spend the whole day lying on the couch in my jogging pants stinking.
